30 Year Palindrome is a silent film with an accompanying live sound performance by Hasan Hujairi. It was first presented at Artspace Sydney in 2019 as a commissioned performance for the 52 Artists 52 Actions exhibition and book launch. The film questions the national narrative of history in Bahrain as portrayed in the Bahrain National Museum on its thirtieth anniversary and in archival footage on the history of the pearling industry. The live sound element includes a series of archival footage, live instrumentation, and historical data-derived signification techniques.
