Okay.. and so, I’m back in Bahrain and..

.. I’m loving it (so far). Although, I think I am going through SOME form of anti-culture shock.

When did I arrive: less than a week ago.

My Route: Haneda (Tokyo) to Osaka to Doha (the most BORING airport in the world) and arrived in Bahrain safely 23 hours after I left my apartment in Kunitachi.

The only annoying thing about my flight:  I was reading this novel on the airplane - finished 580 pages and had 20 pages to finish the book - but I forgot the novel on the plane between Osaka and Doha. I dont know whether to BUY THE BOOK again (even though I can definitely not get it in Bahrain) or just dream up my own happy ending. Argh.

About my lifestyle in Bahrain:

  1. I have no cellphone yet. (Yes, I am probably one of the only 20something year old Bahrainis with no cellphone)
  2. Despite the chilly weather, I jump into our pool at home every day at 2:00pm to get my heart started.
  3. Came back to Bahrain only to find that my family had moved into a new house. My room in Bahrain is bigger and more comfy than the cardboard box I call home in Tokyo.
  4. I clean the dishes (sometimes)
  5. My laptop died of a virus (I hated that piece of junk anyways).
  6. I am practicing the Oud like CRAZY these days.
  7. I have no internet access at home (I’m typing up this entry in a stinky internet cafe filled with a gang of chain-smoking teenagers and 30-something year olds who are playing some silly network computer game that involves screaming out a combination of very Bahraini profanities and “HIT THE F BUTTON! NO NO! THE SPACE BUTTON! OH NO! HE SHOT ME!”. Yes we are a peaceful people - us Bahrainis. Dunno about the 30-something year olds, though. They are a lost generation.
