Can Somebody Please Explain this to Me?

Picture this: You wake up one Autumn morning, to find that the papers announce that you MAY be one of a large number of citizens whose right to vote has been removed for LEGAL reasons. What would you think to yourself? Are there any laws that permit a government to remove a citizen’s right to vote except for maybe these citizens MIGHT vote for an undesired result? I wonder.

This is exactly what happened in Bahrain today. I came across these articles in Arabic and English in the Bahraini Papers about 3,000 Bahraini Citizens being barred from their right to vote in the upcoming elections. I don’t understand what “legal reasons” may exist to remove a right that has been “paid for in blood” for decades by Bahraini citizens concerned for their country, but, whateverit is, this young Bahraini citizen is not happy with it.
