The Art of Paper-Chasing on my First Day of Ramadhan in Tokyo
Published by hasan October 5th, 2005 in Stress, daily life.
Couldn’t sleep till 7am this morning, but I was awake by 10am. After that, I had to go do some paper chasing. Ah, the joys of filling out a thousand pointless application forms that could have been avoided if ONLY things here were more organized and connected.
For my iftar (breaking the fast) for the day, I had some grape juice (straight out of the carton) and a really strange, dried Thai fruit called SOMETHING like Lukyi. Can you believe this; it is a dried fruit, coated in sugar, salt and CHILLI. I will leave it to your imagination how I reacted after taking a bite out of that fruit.
I didn’t end up having “dinner” till around 8pm, because some friends couldn’t decide what to eat. We decided FINALLY to go have some Korean food. It was okay. Oh well.
Oh well, here are three silly pictures.
1. Me.
2. The sign on the door to my research lab.
3. The things I need to fill out one of the MANY application forms (Dictionary, notebook, pen, photos and the actualy APPLICATION, of course.
