Catching up with the Autumn Fashion Trends in Tokyo, and Being Rejected by a Hairdresser
0 Comments Published by hasan September 28th, 2005 in Japan, daily life, Embarrassment, Haircut.Okay, so I today I FINALLY got UN-lazy and decided to go to some shopping for some clothes suitable for Autumn 2005 in Tokyo. For those who know me well, they may testify as to how much I hate taking the time to shop. I don’t know what got into me and I decided to […]
Waking up to a Promise of a Storm and a Bulgarian Sumo Wrestler’s Nerves of Steele
0 Comments Published by hasan September 26th, 2005 in daily life, Sumo Wrestling.Alright, so I wake up today (not quite the morning anymore) and take a look out the window. I can hear the sound of Taiko drums beating outside like a roll of thunder. I remember the news saying something about the umpteenth typhoon hitting Japan this year passing by Tokyo today. Why were there drums […]
Update #1: YES, I did it. I graduated from the Intensive Japanese language course on Wednesday. I even gave a speech in Japanese. It went well. I can’t believe I’ve come this far in less than 7 months. Oh well. I can’t say anything else. Please take a look at the pictures I posted in […]
Snippets of my life in the past few days
0 Comments Published by hasan September 21st, 2005 in dorm, daily life, Embarrassment.I didn’t know how to organize this entry, so thought I would just write it down in point form. There isn’t that ONE, OUTSTANDING thing I really want to say for now, so, just thought I would share these little “snippets” (If translated into Bahraini Arabic, “Sawalif 9a’3eera”). These little pointers are written in no […]
Tomorrow, I have to give a speech in Japanese as part of my “graduation” ceremony from the intensive language course I have been taking since April. It was a lot of work, but I enjoyed it. If you are interested, here is what I will say tomorrow. Enjoy the read!

Today was one of those days, in which I felt things went well. I was happy for no reason. Today was another day in which I was awoken by the sound of children in play (there is an elementary school LITERALLY outside my window - I have a clear a view of the play ground […]
Writing for the sake of writing?
0 Comments Published by hasan September 15th, 2005 in daily life, Insomnia, Bored.Hello again,
I realize it has been a while since I have written anything. Probably because not much has been happening since class began again last week. This evening, I was working on a speech that I have to give next week - in Japanese of course - to other teachers and students - in a […]
Hurricanes, Typhoons and Wet Political Campaign Posters
0 Comments Published by hasan September 6th, 2005 in Japan, Typhoon, Hurricane.alking back to my dormitory after another fulfilling sword class, it was raining hard. I guess reports on TV of a big Typhoon hitting Japan this week weren’t underplaying the gravity of the situation. I guess the world, having its eyes on the tragedies brought down by Hurricane Katrina in the States don’t make it any […]
Night before the first day back in class!
0 Comments Published by hasan September 5th, 2005 in daily life, Insomnia, Stress. It’s a little after 12.30am right now. My Intensive Japanese language course will resume in less than 9 hours from now. I am very excited about the fact that I will have the chance to improve my grasp of the language, despite the hard work that accomplishing that may entail.
I just finished preparing for tomorrow’s […]
