Another August Weekend
Published by hasan August 27th, 2005 in daily life. It’s Saturday, a little before 3.00pm. I am ashamed to say this, but I woke up a little less than two hours ago. Yesterday before my sword class, I picked up a couple of novels at a bookshop in Tachikawa (the station RIGHT after the town I live in - Kunitachi) - two more Haruki Murakami novels. After watching a movie with Enyu - one of my Bulgarian friends here - I went back to my room at 1.30am and began reading “Sputnik Sweetheart. The book was around 208 pages thick.. I didn’t pay attention to how far I had read - but, by the time I noticed, I was only 20 pages from the end. I might as well finish it up. I up until 6.30am reading that book. I finished the entire novel in one sitting. By the time I felt that I “should” sleep (even though I wasn’t tired), the cicadas outside were so loud, it was a little disturbing. I tried to decide whether I should sleep or jump onto a train and go somewhere in Tokyo. But, I decided that I am not that adventurous, and tried to sleep.
Besides, I needed to sleep - I am supposed to be in Shibuya tomorrow (Sunday) at 11am so that I can rehearse on the Oud - I will be playing music with Marco (a good friend of mine from the Ship for World Youth program I was on last year) - at the wedding reception of Hisako. We arranged a few songs together - it should be fun. I just feel a little guilty that I didn’t practice as much as I should have. Tonight, however, I will meet Marco to practice playing music. Hopefully we can get it all down by tomorrow morning. The wedding reception begins at Noon. Woohoo.
Just got off the phone with Marco - everything is set, I guess. I don’t want to say what exactly we will do - I don’t want to jinx the surprise.
Wish us luck! Expect new pictures tomorrow!
