On Conquering the Elusive MACHBOOS
Published by hasan August 11th, 2005 in Failed Attempt At Cooking.YES! Today I did it! I went to the grocery store, bought all the things I needed and COOKED MACHBOOS! Machboos, for those of you who aren’t familiar, is a dish FAMOUS in the Bahrain household as YUMMY. Rice, Spices, meat (chicken, beef, shrimp or fish) and some vegetables. YUMMY.
A good friend of mine, Enyu from Bulgaria, was the first to try it. He said it tasted good, after he suggested adding some salt to it. He was right. Tasted great afterwards. I also suggested we ate it the way we do in Bahrain, by hand. It was fun.
Suddenly, I am considering if I should stick to studying Economics, or should I move on to the Cullinary arts? Hmmm.. I wonder.
Actually, I cooked today so that I can practice for tomorrow’s BIG FEAST on the 2nd floor in my dorm. I am cooking for 10 people. After today’s success, I am very optimistic about tomorrow’s food. Wish me luck!
